Welcoming Interfaith Families

Embracing Diversity and Inclusion

In alignment with the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), we warmly welcome interfaith families into our community. We believe that each family, regardless of its makeup, enriches our congregation with its unique perspectives and experiences. Our synagogue is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all who wish to explore and participate in Jewish life.

A Community Open to All

Reform Judaism values the principle of inclusivity, understanding that the modern Jewish family comes in many forms. Whether one partner is Jewish and the other is of a different faith, or both partners are exploring their Jewish journey together, we honour and respect your family’s path.

Participation and Engagement

Interfaith families are encouraged to fully participate in all aspects of synagogue life. From attending services and educational programs to celebrating holidays and lifecycle events, there are countless opportunities to connect with our community and embrace Jewish traditions.

Educational Programs

We offer a variety of educational programs designed to engage all members of interfaith families, including:

  • Adult Education: Classes and discussion groups that explore Jewish beliefs, practices, and history, open to all.
  • TAS Religious School: A welcoming environment where children from interfaith families learn about Jewish traditions, values, and heritage.
  • Family Programming: Events and activities that bring families together to celebrate Jewish holidays and customs in a fun and inclusive setting.

Lifecycle Events

Our clergy and staff provide support and guidance for all major lifecycle events, ensuring that each family feels included and valued. Whether you are planning a baby naming, B’nai Mitzvah, or other significant event, we are here to help you create meaningful and personalized ceremonies.

Conversion and Jewish Journeys

For those who are interested in deepening their connection to Judaism, we offer supportive pathways to conversion. Our clergy are available to discuss your spiritual journey, provide educational resources, and guide you through the conversion process if you choose to pursue it.

Our Commitment

We are committed to fostering an environment where interfaith families feel at home. By embracing the URJ’s stance on inclusivity, we aim to create a community where everyone can explore their Jewish identity and find a place of belonging.
